Dr Tan Kim Han
- Research Fellow
Biography
Dr. Tan Kim Han received his tertiary education at the University of Malaya (UM), where he earned a B.Eng. (Hons.) in Materials Science in 2008. As a scholar, he continued to pursue a Master of Eng. with a major in Nanotechnology at UM and completed it in 2012. He obtained his PhD in Advanced Materials & Nanomaterials from UM under a scholarship provided by the local government in 2019. He has worked on different materials such as nanocomposites, carbon nanotubes, & intermetallic compounds for applications in energy storage, optoelectronics, & electromagnetic absorbers. Currently, he is working on 2D nanomaterials. Several scientific research papers have been published internationally. He was one of the members of a team that won medals in research competitions, Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE, KL 2012) and International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (23rd ITEX 2012), for their work in developing eco-saving coatings in roofing systems. He peer-reviewed some research papers for an international journal. At present, he works as research fellow at the Research Centre for Nano-materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET), School of Engineering & Technology, Sunway University.
